April 2026

AI Studio supports grouping models, and the navigation is rebuilt.

Highlights

Grouping models

Grouping models split a batch into documents by learning where each document starts and ends. Until now this needed fixed rules, such as every N pages or on a barcode. You annotate document boundaries in a set of representative samples, and the model derives the rules from them. Create, train and manage grouping objectives in AI Studio.

The primary sidebar is gone. Organisation teams and members are in the organisation settings dialog, and user settings have their own dialog. The team and project sidebars keep the current organisation, team and project in view, so you choose each one once.

Week of 6 April

AI & data

  • Gemini for extraction: extraction now uses Gemini, and the model provider can be set per model.

Prediction & processing

  • Higher-resolution OCR: documents are rendered at double the resolution before OCR, so small numbers in narrow table columns are read correctly.

Interface

  • Navigation rebuilt: described above.
  • Support chat visibility: you can control whether the support chat is shown.

Fixes

  • Popovers stay inside the window.
  • Unsaved transformer edits no longer carry over between the test and live environments.

Week of 13 April

AI & data

  • Grouping in AI Studio: described above.
  • Comments on samples: discuss a sample in place.
  • Samples marked for training: these always go to the default sample set.

Import & document processing

  • Plain text and XML: plain text and XML files are handled natively.
  • Split on page index: split a file at given page positions.

Interface

  • Loading and empty states: these now have their own screens.
  • Labels in the editor: the label set stays visible while you annotate.

Fixes

  • Email senders are mapped correctly for all providers.
  • A slow parse no longer delays predictions.

Week of 20 April

Import & document processing

  • CSV and Excel: CSV and Excel files are supported with styling, and a file that cannot be processed shows an error on its task.

Week of 27 April

Fixes

  • Predictions on large documents no longer time out.
  • Links in outgoing emails work again.
